I would like to teach upper levels of High School art. My preferred mediums for teaching include: ceramics, drawing, multimedia, or photography. If they had glass working classes I would love that as well.
I will teach the mediums by having small workshops to teach the students skills. These workshops will have measurable outcomes. In addition to these instructional projects, students would have their own concept driven project to work on throughout the semester. We will critic these every other week as a class to make sure that the students continue to make progress throughout the semester. Will will display our work in different shows during the semester.
When teachers and students collaborate together to research and learn, then a classroom is successful. As a teacher I desire to instill students with a love for art and the ability to see problems from multiple viewpoints and use various means to solve one problem.
